Mansfield House

Welcome to Mansfield House, a Palm Springs-inspired 60’s era house in the northern suburbs of Sydney.  The sky is expansive on this clear winter day and the sprinklers cover the ground in a fine mist.  The tall gum trees tower majestically over the landscape and the Sydney skyline glimmers in the distance.

I’ve always wanted to create a painting in the style of my most favorite painter, David Hockney, and my moment came in 2020 when some good friends purchased this beautiful home. As soon as I saw it’s clean lines and imposing position I knew it was the perfect subject.  I was mindful to keep the composition as simple as possible whilst maintaining the integrity of the architecture, and used subtle playful details to add depth and engagement. 

Whilst the original is proudly hanging in situ, quality reproductions are available on both canvas and archival cotton rag paper. This piece looks best in large format.  

All of my reproductions can be provided on either a fine art canvas or on archival quality cotton rag.
